Can anyone write a poem about recovering from a relationship breakup?

I am curious to see what people write.

  1. blueeyed girl Says:

My heart is mending from the painful break
Some days I wonder how much more sadness I can take
My days are filled with thoughts of you
Where do I begin to start anew
I must rise out of this pit of despair
Because staying here I get nowhere.

  2. katydint Says:

    In order to rebuild myself,
My feelings for you are on the shelf.
And next, to get right to the root,
I’ll kick them far with my left boot.

Call this "Determined Recovery In Four Lines".

How about this one by Lord Byron:

    WHEN WE TWO PARTED

    When we two parted
    In silence and tears,
    Half broken-hearted
    To sever the years,
Pale grew thy cheek and cold,
    Colder, thy kiss;
    Truly that hour foretold
    Sorrow to this.

    The dew of the morning
    Sunk, chill on my brow,
    It felt like the warning
    Of what I feel now.
    Thy vows are all broken,
    And light is thy fame;
    I hear thy name spoken,
    And share in its shame.

    They name thee before me,
    A knell to mine ear;
    A shudder comes o’er me…
    Why wert thou so dear?
They know not I knew thee,
    Who knew thee too well..
Long, long shall I rue thee,
    Too deeply to tell.

    In secret we met
    In silence I grieve
    That thy heart could forget,
    Thy spirit deceive.
    If I should meet thee
    After long years,
    How should I greet thee?
    With silence and tears.

  4. Cheer Up Says:

    Roses are red
    Violets are blue
    Life isn’t easy
    I’m getting over you.

  5. Poppy Says:

    Sorry I’m not a poet,
    My feet sure show it,
    They’re long fellows!

  6. CH Says:

    Forever Love?

    Intoxicating madness
    From which you can’t escape
    An elixir prepared by
    The many forms of fate
    Enchanted and so spellbound
With head up in the clouds
    Your first love, forever love
    Exciting and newfound
The winds then commence to shift
    This love soon falls apart
    Atmospheric presence of
    An artificial heart
    This is a beginning…
    Beginning to an end
We try, but fail to ever
    Completely comprehend
    This season of ecstasy
    You wonder what went wrong
The waters then return to cool
    The heart continues on
